Miscellaneous story #2-- Needs Batteries

It seems like all of the batteries die right around the same time in the girls' toys. They are constantly bringing a toy that no longer moves or makes noise and I have to tell them the batteries are dead. The other day Megan was trying to draw and her pen went dry. She brought it to me and I told her the pen was broken. She said "oh, nee's bah'ries?"
