Skeeto's

On our camping trip Evie had a hard time with the bugs. If one landed on her she would go crazy--she was constantly swatting at them or running away from them. She really didn't like the "Skeeto's" because they drink your blood. On our second night sleeping in the tent she kept waking up screaming that there were mosquitos on her and we had to shine the light around to show her that there were no bugs in the tent. Even when she was awake she would imagine that there were mosquitos on her still.

After going through this about a half dozen times and at 2 in the morning we decided that Austin should give her a father's blessing. She had learned a little bit about blessing and priesthood in primary, so we explained to her that Daddy was going to give her a special blessing and that he has the priesthood.

After the blessing she went to sleep and slept uninterupted the rest of the night. The next day we wanted Evie to see that Heavenly Father answered the blessing. I asked her if she remembered what daddy did the night before and it took her a little bit to remember that dadddy gave her a blessing. When she did she said, "I think it helped!"
